Lunch time

Michael, enjoying his lunch
I woke up in a bad mood yesterday. Within 15 minutes of waking up, I had given all of my kids extra chores for dawdling. My daughter told me recently, "When I yell at Max (the dog) it is kind of like when Mom yells at me. I am mad, but I still love him." My bad day really didn't seem to get any better. At lunch, I was still feeling crummy.
A while ago, we decided to stop buying bread, and just use our breadmaker when we need bread. One of my sisters gave us a bunch of bread flour, and we have put it to good use. When we buy bread, my kids eat half of the loaf in front of the TV, and they leave crumbs all over the place. We always end up loosing about half the loaf that either just gets left out, or crumbled to death. We have been putting the bread together in the morning, and in the afternoon, we get to have hot bread with our lunch.
Yesterday, I decided to make egg salad sandwiches. We got some eggs from my sister. She has 25+ chickens, and she gets two dozen eggs a day. Her chickens lay some of the prettiest eggs ever. We ended up using the end of the pretty eggs to make our sandwiches. When I was looking at them, it made me sad that we were using the last of them, but they were so pretty that it made my day. I actually enjoyed putting together our little lunch. The day got worse after lunch, but it was nice to have a little bit of peace at lunch time.
I didn't realize how huge the sandwiches turned out until I took these pictures.

Cute pictures. I'm glad you like the eggs. I think a carton of white eggs looks so different now that I'm used to many colored eggs in my cartons. I'm glad they could help your day a little since I wasn't there for you when you called. Sorry.

No Problem. My kids have been better for the most part since then. (We are struggling a little today.) It seems like they are angels after testing my patience. I think they know I can only take so much.

Tallulah! I'm sorry you are having a bad day. Yesterday I was feeling like beating my kids (well, my 2 year old anyway) so I strapped them in the stroller and just walked and walked and walked until I felt better. And then I bought an ice cream maker. And then I felt A LOT better.

I love your bread. My bread never turned out when I made it in the bread maker. It always fell.

Mimi, we have been making wheat bread in our bread maker, and with the gluten and dough enhancer, they turn out just as high as our white bread loaves. Thanks for the supplies. They are great!!
